The Tone-A-Tronic

Is EMS safe to use?
This is a question often asked of us Developed in England over 40 years ago by a team of scientists and doctors, EMS is used extensively in hospitals, beauty salons, health clubs and spas as part of the beauty regime and by physiotherapists and sports medicine to treat those annoying sports strains and sprains. Electronic Muscle Stimulator (EMS) is quite safe for any individual capable of taking normal exercise. You can not strain or sprain your muscles by overworking them with your electronic muscle stimulator system because the feeling is more like a pleasant tingling sensation than a shock or jolt. As well a small amount of anesthetic current is overlapped in the signal. However; the following, should not use electronic muscle stimulators (EMS): Those THAT ARE PREGNANT. USE A PACE MAKER, HAVE METAL PLATES OR PINS, HAVE DIABETES OR HAVE ABNORMALLY HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE. Just as with starting any new exercise program, if in doubt, consult your physician.

I just had a baby. Can EMS help get my tummy back in shape?
EMS is ideal for tightening those postnatal bulges back into shape. Treatment should start approximately 6 weeks after delivery. Very gentle exercise to begin with, then gradually building up over a number of weeks with fantastic results.

I am over 5O, and have poor muscle tone. Can EMS help me?
EMS works well for all age groups. If your muscles require a lot of improvements, the results seem even more dramatic. So many studies have been done on people over 50 that show amazing results with any muscle stimulator. Increase your circulation, strength, tone, and relieve body pain from arthritis, fibromyalgia, carpal tunnel, sciatica pain.

How long do the effects last?
Like any form of exercise, the results are never permanent unless you do something to maintain them. We suggest daily treatments from onset for a minimum of three weeks, with 2-3 sessions weekly thereafter. By having 2-3 sessions per week, you should be able to maintain your results.

Can I lose weight with EMS?
Most certainly, YES. By increasing the lean muscle mass in your body, we have observed at our spa that real weight loss on the scale does occur. At our facility we combine real weight training with EMS to produce results 200-300% faster than training with EMS or weights alone. We provide ongoing information via e-mail or telephone on how to use EMS or T.E.N.S for whatever reason. Our company is the only EMS company that's been in business for 20 years. Whatever the question please don't hesitate to ask. Eventually you will lose weight and inches.

Tone-a-tronic units are also the only unit on the market that feature both Electronic Muscle Stimulation and TENS for pain relief rehabilitation and reducing the swelling in injured muscles.

Biphasic and Mono-phasic Feature
All EMS/T.E.N.S units on the market are inherently mono-phasic. That is, when one wire comes of the unit and splits into two pads, there is a positive and negative pad. The negative pad is always 10% stronger. The Biphasic feature evens both pads out.

Alternating and Reciprocating Feature.
This feature is for specific training and for the advanced trainer. It is for training alternate muscle groups like triceps and biceps or quadriceps and hamstrings. It's great for rehabilitation.

Insurance Claims
Whether due to motor vehicle injuries, WCB or work related accidents, North Americans are being helped by Tone-a-tronic units. Tone-a-tronic units are the only units on the market that have both Electronic Muscle stimulation and T.E.N.S all in the same unit. T.E.N.S, (Transcutaneous Electronic Neurological Stimulation) is used for pain relief and reducing inflammation.

What insurance programs cover it?
So far, Tone-a-tronic has helped hundreds of patients receive their free EMS/TENS unit through their insurance for all accident related injuries, including:

  • motor vehicle accidents

  • workers compensation board claims

  • employer group insurance plans (that companies have to help their staff in the event of an accident)

How to claim a unit
